I enjoy reading your blogs. What you are doing right now is fantastic and I truly believe that the path you are on will surely lead you to a great & bright future…!!

I have no doubt that from sharing your experience, surely you also will have made a difference in a positive way to another youngster’s life…!!!

(P.S.: I want to share w/you something that just happened to me at my recent 40th H.S. reunion…!! First of all, in my younger yrs I use to teach baton twirling & dancing to younger students. Well, at this H.S. reunion a few mths ago one of those students who recognized me came up & said to me – she wanted to thank me for having been so patient w/her. She was left-handed & at that time being left-handed was wrongful and seen as being somewhat of out of the ordinary. In baton twirling one has got to be able to do the same pattern equally with the right & left hand. She remembered how hard it was for her to do it & apparently I was the only one that had the patience to help her achieve this goal. She is in her 40′s today and said to this day she loves to dance and never stopped taking dancing lessons to stay healthy because of what I did for her and that she is very grateful) !

So all this to say that someday you too will have someone who will come up to you in a similar way and tell you how you have inspired & helped him/her. You may not know it now but it will happen I am very sure…!!!

Wow, that’s incredible! What impresses me the most is how much determination, mental strength and discipline you need to have in order to be an ironman. After my divorce, my good fnried hounded me to take TKD with her. I resisted. She insisted. I relented. I committed to one year, but am now well into my second year and going strong. Although I have the dubious distinction of being the oldest in our class and, I think, all the Kim’s TKD in the valley, I wear that proudly. You see, I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life. I have met some wonderful people. We watch out for each other and help each other in class when we are having problems. As someone in our class stated, we are family. It’s more than a martial arts class. It’s confidence-building, respect-orientated, & endurance enhancing.

Thank you Master Kou. Yes, it was a great 2011 and I hope that 2012 will be even better. I would like to thank you as well for your 10 years of amazing coaching and giving me the proper foundation in Taekwon-Do. When I started Taekwon-Do with you at the age of 3, I had no idea what exciting things were going to happen I think everyone that has gone far in TKD has been instructed by you at some point. It’s a very small world. Best wishes for you and your family in 2012.

I attend a Personal Trainer in darling point and I am always searching around for interesting sources of information and resources or training programs etc to send on to my fitness instructor. I was happy to hear last night that his test went very well. I knew he would be fine! I have soccer until noon on Saturday but I will be at the tournament right after that. Hopefully I’ll be able to see him compete. Congratulations Cameron! Kayla

Kayla – thank you so much for calling Cameron today before his red belt test. Although he may have seemed shy on the phone, your call meant so much to him. His face lite while talking to you and after he got off the phone he was so excited. Hopefully he will be proudly sporting a red belt for the tournament next weekend!

Well said Kayla. That was a tough game, especially for the AY girls….I have a nephew who went trough some of that. Closer to home, my daughter, who was 6′ 5″ in high school, had to put up with a lot of nonsense and negativity. I, too, felt bad for the family.
